Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Licensed Unarmed Security Guard/Officer  will be responsible for the following, to include but not limited to: 

  • Proactively and promptly ensuring safety and security of the Nashville facility, staff and patients to prevent or reduce damage or harm
  • Makes hourly rounds throughout the facility to ensure building and grounds security; immediately reports any breaches or potential risk
  • Actively engages with guest that appear suspicious and/or warrants discussion to resolve disputes or manage other potential risk
  • Lock all patient/employee entrances/exits at appropriate times or when necessary for safety and security purposes
  • Report any cars left in the parking lot after normal business hours to the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department
  • Follows proper procedure for opening the facility and reporting any security breaches or potential risk
  • Ensures proper procedure for securing the facility afterhours, ensuring all visitors and staff have exited the facility and all doors are securely locked.
  • Monitor patient and staff vehicles to ensure security while on Center property; immediately reports any incidents of theft or damage
  • Provide escort for employees/patients/visitors as requested
  • Investigate and document reports of all cases involving incidents of theft, damage to property, violence, etc.

Behavioral Health Referral Specialist (Nashville, TN)

  • Schedule behavioral health appointments for patients
  • Processing behavioral health patient referrals in a timely manner and responding to general information inquiries
  • Answering a high volume of incoming telephone calls from patients, insurance companies and other healthcare providers;
  • Ensuring ICD-9 and CPT codes are accurate on behavioral health referral authorizations prior to submitting them to the insurance company;
  • Responding to information requests from various parties;
  • Ensuring behavioral health referral requests are processed and documented completely and in a timely manner;

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Registered Dietician (RD) will be responsible for educating, monitoring and advising MWCHC patients and helping improve their quality of life through healthy eating habits at our Nashville, Smyrna and Clarksville, TN clinical sites. Additional responsibilities include, but; are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with providers to identify and connect with patients in need of nutrition counseling.
  • Assess the dietary and health needs of patients, establishes treatment plans, and communicates with patients regarding program compliance and its importance in disease prevention.
  • Meet directly with patients to identify dietary/nutritional educational needs; provide individual instruction, utilize informational handouts/booklets, or refer to community resources as needed.
  • Identify ways to improve dietary/nutritional care of patients, and make recommendations to the Medical Director and P&T Committee;
  • Participate in various patient program committees;
  • Performs research and recommends ways to expand and improve nutrition programs offered to MWCHC patients
  • Participates in quality improvement of the program in conjunction with other services offered.

The Registered Dietician must be patient focused with the ability to relay and discuss dietary and nutrition information with diverse patients in a sensitive and knowledgeable manner. Additionally, possess excellent analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills with an ability to work efficiently and effectively with all levels of the organization.

Bachelors degree from an approved education program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and licensed in the state of Tennessee is required. Senior Billing Specialist (Nashville, TN)

Reporting to the Finance Manager (FM), the Senior Billing Specialist is responsible for serving as the liaison between Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center and the practice management system vendor to resolve issues and monitor the accurate and timely processing of claims, adjustments, statements, etc. Additional responsibilities include, but; are not limited to:

  • Monitor the billing and collection processes to ensure days in accounts receivable are in compliance with MW financial policy standards
  • Perform accounts receivable and revenue analysis
  • Responsible for training and communicating to front desk, providers and clerks any practice management system updates and changes. Acts as billing and coding resource for training and education
  • Reviews monthly self-pay accounts and makes recommendations to CFO for bad debt write offs
  • Responsible for escalated issues identified within practice management system
  • Responsible for auditing data within practice management system for accuracy and validity. Recommend process improvements based upon audit results.
  • Discuss patient accounts, process and post payments, (as applicable)
  • Process refunds as directed from CFO
  • Discuss and resolve billing issues with insurance companies
  • Provide related weekly, monthly and year end reports of audit findings and generate reports per state and federal regulations
  • Process claims for contract payers
  • Resumes the role of lead contact and acts as liaison for new satellite offices
  • Provides requested ad hoc reporting to management
  • Keep abreast of state and federal billing requirements and regulations

NEXTGEN practice management system experience preferred. FQHC experience a plus.

Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center has an exciting opportunity available for a skilled, resourceful and motivated individual who would like to make a difference in the lives of others in helping a non-for-profit organization fulfill its mission to provide quality health care. Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) Site Coordinator or the Clarksville, TN site will be responsible for the supervision and professional development of the clinical support which include, but is not limited to the following operational functions:

  • Assists the Clinical Nurse Manager with developing a written philosophy and objectives for the Nursing Department which are compatible with the mission of the health care facility; communicates and interprets the philosophy and objectives and processes of implementation to administration, the medical staff, and others, as appropriate
  • Along with the Clinical Nurse Manager, develop Nursing Services Policies and Procedures, which focus on the care of patients and favor good, safe, quality care
  • Participate in the procedures for hiring, supervising, training and evaluating the clinical support staff and ensuring staff is meeting performance expectations, complying with departmental and organizational policies and procedures and correcting poor performance when needed
  • Responsible for creating the clinical support staff schedule that promotes the maximum utilization of all clinical support staff
  • Develop and maintain an effective system for the maintenance of nursing records, monthly/annual reports/audits to assure the provision of good quality health care
  • Work with clinical support staff in conjunction with providers, operations staff and other patient care disciplines, to develop programs for total patient care
  • Support the physician and other providers in delivering quality health care to ambulatory patients and perform a variety of nursing related tasks to promote continuity of care
  • Participate in and promote membership in the activities of professional nursing associations, allied health organizations and supportive community activities, and work at Health Fairs
  • Participate in CQI and Joint Commission committees to ensure compliance with clinical policies and procedures and standards
  • Responsible for the maintenance of patient confidentiality and adherence to Patient Rights and Responsibilities as issued in the New Hire Orientation

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited RN program
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure within the state of Tennessee is required, and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
  • 2-5 years of supervisory and hospital experience, required
  • 2 years of experience working in a community health clinic, preferred
