Serving the Middle Tennessee Community has been the Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center’s (MWCHC) fateful legacy for more than 40 years. Since 1968, it has proudly served as a private, non-profit healthcare agency. The organization has grown tremendously since its inception, touching the lives over 32,000 patients, employing over 100 individuals, and providing services at seven locations.
MWCHC’s primary facility is in Nashville, and it has satellite locations in Clarksville and Smyrna. Each location provides multiple areas of service to the community it aids. The members of Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center work each day to serve the residents of Middle Tennessee as patients and citizens. It opens its doors providing aid and support to those who desire to improve their health and themselves. MWCHC continues to preserve the legacy of Dr. Matthew Walker and the work he offered in his lifelong commitment to wellness and service, serving as many citizens as it can one day at a time.
At Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center, we have a comprehensive and integrated structure that allows our team of providers to work together in a coordinated fashion for the benefit of the patient.
This level of integration, supported by sophisticated information technology, means that the patient, along with her/his appropriate medical information, can move smoothly from the clinic to the hospital or from primary care to specialty care. It also means that our patients receive quality and affordable healthcare. We have an intense focus on primary care, dental care, health education and prevention. Our goal is to keep people healthy so that they can live long and thrive.
We believe the comprehensive approach to healthcare is the most efficient and effective model to ensuring quality continuous care. We have a long and rich history of ensuring that the necessary services are accessible and affordable for the health and well-being of the community. Our services are intended to meet the needs of the youngest child, through the primary years of growth, into the golden years of aging.
